I found your entry when I searched the Internet for Nick McDonell using Google. I think the best thing that you can do is to mention that writers like Helen Oyeyemi and Christopher Paolini are around the same age but their writing quality is much higher. Otherwise, that entry of yours makes you seem like an angry obsessive person. The fact that so many people despise McDonell for his obviousness is going to keep him down; don't worry too much about it. You've probably heard the snide comments from other young authors like zoe-trope and Marty Beckerman. Unless McDonell ever manages to write a book worthy of all the praise, he is probably going to fade away after he finds all of his novels dogged by ridicule. Oyeyemi and Paolini are SO much better. You should really take a crack at them. Oyeyemi wrote Icarus Girl and studies at Cambridge. Paolini is one of those home-schooled kids and he wrote Eragon, which was a huge bestseller.

I have read a galley of The Third Brother and it was just terrible. At least the plot of Twelve worked out somewhat but this new book is kind of ...ugh. Actually, I would be willing to give you my signed galley.
